This time Refik Anadol is collaborating with SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space transportation company, to turn space data into NFT! He announced the new collaboration from Twitter and Instagram. In his own words, “The data from these journeys, which are so important and exciting for humanity, have never been visualized before.”. So, It must be an exciting project for both worlds.
TRISH (Translational Research Institute for Space Health) is a NASA-funded organization. It observes the health effects of space travel on the human body. Meanwhile, TRISH’s EXPAND (Enhancing eXploration Platforms and Analog Definition) program studies the health data collected in pre-flight, post-flight and in-flight of multiple space journeys. Then they store the data in a database for research purposes.
There are many challenges for human health due to space travel. So, in order to bring more awareness and solutions to the problems, digital art will take place. Therefore, Refik will use his unique AI technology to show how our bodies are affected by space, outside of the world. Refik Anadol is going to use the data from Inspiration4 mission by SpaceX and create NFT art in February 2022.

Lastly, Refik will donate 30% of the sales revenue to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The hospital helps the families of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. But yet, they never bill families for treatment, travel, or food to help them focus on their kids’ health. Furthermore, this donation makes the project even more meaningful, together with the mission of bringing more awareness to the astronauts’ health problems.
